“Tiny Toons”reruns were playing on the tv. Blood covered my mom's face, and her front tooth had a triangular chip. A puddle soaked into the beige carpet. The beer bottle that caused the injury was broken but recognizable, displaying its brand, accompanied by scattered bloody glass & brown paper bag.

When my mom began to mature, I was able to visit her occasionally. At seven, I witnessed my mom’s partner brutally attack her with a 40oz beer bottle, smashing her head, chipping her front tooth, and spilling her blood on the floor.
