Lost count. 5? Another Alarm Fur Cobra 11 post. According to IMCDB, two 960 estates appear in one episode! Here we see a Ruben Red example in a less sorry state and they're both on wheel trims.
There's a weird allure to 90s executive cars on wheel trims - that's my next lockscreen sorted.

Not only does Arnie Swatserzsaggerz wear an iconic outfit, reminiscent of Bruce Willis at the start of Die Hard 2, or today's elderly 960 driver on their way to Waitrose, he clearly has good taste in cars, as he literally tries to carjack this 960 estate. Unsure of the alloy style. Looks like a 2.5.

4) Jingle All The Way. "Bbblluughghghurrghghghhhh, I need yoour sub standard interior plastics, your lambda light and your premium sound system.". The former Governor of California stars in this festive comedy. I'm calling him that because I can't be bothered to google his name to spell it.

*spoilers incoming*. The 960 had a major role throughout the film, and on occasions you can hear the lifters clicking, so it's authentic as well. You can just about make out the Mercurios style wheels in these pictures, which in my view were the best 960 wheel of all. And, yes it survives the film.

3) Most Wanted. Actor and filmaker, Keenen Ivory Wayans made history with Scary Movie in 2000, which became the highest grossing film ever made by a black director. Most Wanted, which he starred in three years prior, was clearly his crowning achievement. I sought this out on DVD for its 960 content.

Cheapskates used aftermarket wheel trims and they don't even match. I haven't researched what the trims are actually called because aftermarket wheel trims are notoriously hard to find product names for, but one falls off anyway. To be honest, I think thats the least of its worries.

2) Alarm Fur Cobra 11. A German TV series famed for smashing up Jags (probably revenge for Dresden), which decided to have a pop at Volvo as well. Here, a pre-facelift 960 shows off it's class-leading boot space and safety features.

It was portrayed as the kind of car driven by somebody who life has not been kind to. Rather unfair, but then again it does have the Altair style alloy wheels which look like caravan wheel trims. It's finished in Rubin red metallic, so my least favourite 960 colour with my least favourite wheels.

1) 2020 thriller Unhinged. It stars Russel Crowe as a man with Breitbart bookmarked on his phone (probably) who kills somebody with a cup, like an angry MacGyver, and a woman who I thought was Sandra Bullock, but wasn't. It switches between being a V90/960.

Anyway, I thought it was high time to right this cosmic wrong and show Volvos as the on-screen starts they really are. I'll be focussing on the 960 because I have one, so tough. All pictures ©The Internet.

Loved for safety, quality and distinctive style, Volvo have won many fans. However, few remember their cinematic exploits beyond "boxy but good" and professional blazer enthusiast, Roger Moore's P1800. Roger Moore didn't get the memo about it being a bad time to be sexy, evidenced by the 007 films.

Turns out the £1.79 wheel cleaner I bought from a garden centre is actually decent.

That would have been an 850. Although you could put it in the WTCC Olsburgs/Castrol livery, that might work?

Turns out Barbie is a fan of 5 cylinder engines and crap turning circles. Amusingly, this has the same wheels my Dad's D5 did.

Sedan Hussain.

Ah, the '90s was a more simple time. When Volvo were boxy, and used disturbing clowns to advertise their cars.

However, you could get an exact replica of my uncle's MX-5, who I hated, because he killed our pet puffer fish. Imagine the fun I could have had running it into walls!

So inclusion: cool cover art, working dials, dead puffer fish.

The graphics were pretty good for an early PS2 game, and interiors with working dials would have been seriously cool. But the controls are psychotically twitchy, there's only a handful of tracks and no career mode. Then GT 3 came out a few months later and made it pointless.

In today's episode of "Things which weren't amazing 25 years ago are still not amazing today" I finally got hold of a copy of Driving Emotion Type-S, having always wanted to try it (mostly because of the moody album art). Had you put this in front of my when I was 7, I would have played it to death.

I assume the prize is you don't win the Orion. I'd pay £7.00 to not own one.
