“A pig’s gotta fly.”
Started somewhat consistently diddling a little comic… Fearful of having to ink this because I know anything I remotely like will be ~destroyed~…

And now, the Konbini Wagon.

A beautiful bowl of udon if I do say so myself.

Mushishi reprinting is a real treat.

Urushibara’s art is one thing, loose yet dense with all the foliage, but her balance between horror and objectivity in the stories is fascinating.

It’s partly why Hellboy is my favorite; it’s all just the job to HB, much like the mushi are to Ginko here.

Staying on brand I’m pleased with the first draft of my Curry Wagon カリーワゴン

And this was just on Fujicolor 100 which I think ended up looking a lot nicer!

Had a roll of weird "Edo 35mm film" for like a year that I only just shot recently. A little more desaturated than I was expecting (and not a ton of great shots out of it) but a few I don't hate..!

Not quite balancing things flavor-wise yet but the curry udon challenge is one I accept.

Honestly thinking back on it more the カリーすけめん I had was one of the better meals in Osaka, might try to make a really decadent, rich “broth” to dip noodles (or naan..?) into…

Testing a print of The New World and it’s honestly one of the best looking 35mm prints I’ve run.

Maybe the last Malick I like..?

That rapscalliony Colin Farrell.

Started to develop some of the 35 shot this past trip.

Black and white is tricky but also forgiving enough that a goof can shoot things that look half-decent…

Last ones I’ll post (minus an always-reliable CoCo Ichi visit, and a first time Hinoya Curry visit where I accidentally ordered way too much rice instead of extra pickled shallots [I misunderstood the ticket I printed ごめんなさい]).

Working on a way to channel my curry obsession stay tuned… maybe!

Curry Tour is once again winding down and I have to say… lots of good ones but no (new) spots that have blown my mind, though one of the nicest whims this trip was meeting a nice cafe owner in Minoo.

Used a Trader Joe’s tikka masala for this last night and the disappointment therein cannot be quantified.

I wouldn’t proclaim to be a Great Cook, but for less the cost (Trader J already relatively affordable) and a smidge more time I’ve made better masalas in my SLEEP.

t’s been weeks since I watched and I’m still thinking how in the Altman Popeye Bluto “sees red” and for a shot they refit Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall (and baby Sweet Pea) and (paint the set? recolor the negative?), it’s so good.
