The legislature ultimately deserves the blame for not fixing the crisis, but Newsom seems to be MIA.
As I write here, Newsom could have actually thrown the weight of the governor's office behind pro-housing legislation. He's been an unusually weak and passive governor in his dealings with the legislature, especially compared to his predecessor. resnikoff.beehiiv.com/p/death-of-a...

New policy brief is up on the blue state cost-of-living problem. It's real, it's mostly driven by housing shortage, and it can be mitigated by making it easier to build. Link⬇️
