Don’t get your hopes up re. the plot! I found it easier to think of it like music: leitmotifs that are returned to, combined and varied again & again. The whole thing builds like that; triggers memories etc etc. Meanwhile the writing and observations are so good that there’s always lots to enjoy.

Great piece and a happy to see the arts mentioned. London and our regional cities will be the engines of growth, so let’s make them vibrant places to live!
