Watched #PerfectDays recently and haven’t stopped thinking about it. It delicately depicts the beauty & humanity in the moments we may typically observe or engage with passively. & how the judgements, expectations, naivety etc. of others can disrupt & require us to face our deep, difficult feelings.

Loved Baghdad Cafe (1987), which poses a unique culture clash: a whimsical German woman wanders into a middle-of-nowhere Mojave rest stop run by a leery, overworked Black woman & breathes new life into it. Reminds us to find the magic in the mundane, & that family can be found with anyone, anywhere.

Watching more films lately. This week I watched Párpados Azules, a brilliant depiction of the resistance & awkwardness that presents between 2 people who are used to & maybe more comfortable being alone, but still long for connection. I love the stillness of this film. It builds so quietly & gently
