The difference is that when he took office, Germany was in a position that allowed him to enact changes which drastically improved life for the majority. This then rallies the necessary. Trump will not improve the quality of life in the US. Not to say he won't try a different method

Until we start hearing talk of a 3d term I'm not too worried. Also the US is nowhere close to the level of economic devastation that led to Hitler's uprising. Finally, Trump would need way more support which would require him to make meaningful and drastic improvements (an impossibility)
