I'm not sure I buy the idea that the bulk of the backlash is driven by her constituents. But sure, I take your point that some of the dsas folks expected more purity and are fairly upset. There are also plenty of no profile no name accounts coming for her btw haha

I mean it's nonsensical and clearly a trap to get progressives to vote for defunding Israel's defenses (which is less politically palatable) while still allowing the US to support the slaughter of Palestinians with offensive capacity.

Clearly you disagree and that's fine. But folks saying she "supports genocide" because of a reasoned opposition to what she thinks is bad policy, is exactly the puritanical mindset we're talking about

It's fine to criticize her for supporting iron dome if you think it shouldn't be supported by the U.S. but that's only part of her justification. Her point, as I understand it, was that it would defund their defensive capacity while allowing support for offensive. Which is bad policy imo.

That's a wild interpretation of what happened. "Vote for this symbolic amendment, sponsored by a fascist, and that would still allow bombs to be delivered to Israel, or you're a traitor to the cause"

It explicitly would have still allowed sending bombs. And anyway, if it's meaningless, no one should be mad about the vote either way.
