I'm choosing to assume that seven hours at the Vet without them calling me means Tilly's dental work is going okay 😅 Last time they'd phoned me three times by now about her pre-op bloodwork. 🤞

Tilly has her dentist appointment this morning - fingers crossed she passes the pre-op bloods this time! Buses being what they are we got here stupid early, so we had to get off a stop after ours, and take a stroll around a nearby park to kill some time

I am soooo sleepy tonight! Three separate radiology tasks came through over the weekend, and it was my day to deal, so I focused in order to get two of them done - they take a while and I'm off again from Wednesday for the cat's dental work.

Why is it that when I take a week off work, I struggle to do anything then pack stuff into the weekend before I go back! 😆 Hamilton last night, now keeping work bestie company while she takes her niblings round the science museum!

Welsh class went okay! It's beginner level and I still have some vocabulary in the recesses of my brain from my decades old GCSE that I had to try and refrain from accessing, so as to not seem like I was showing off 😅 It's an intensive course though, so I'll soon be working hard to keep up!

Starting an evening class tomorrow, so anxiety made me get an admittedly much needed hair cut after work tonight. Perimenopause has done an absolute number on my hair - it's lost so much thickness. Feels weird 😅

Ooof, I am tired! 😅 Afternoon out with my new team, and it's been a good day - it's very warm and loud, and I am ready to go home before my head starts to hurt. Luckily I've been able to jump right on a bus. Just hope the old fart grumbling about his bus pass not getting accepted shuts up soon!

Ooof, I am tired! 😅 Afternoon out with my new team, and it's been a good day - it's very warm and loud, and I am ready to go home before my head starts to hurt. Luckily I've been able to jump right on a bus. Just hope the old fart grumbling about his bus pass not getting accepted shuts up soon!
Just had a massive Labrador trot up to say good morning on the way to my bus stop. 🥰 I'm a little nervous around dogs in general, but this good boy (or girl!) had such a sweet aura, you could almost hear the "Henlo frend!" as it came right up to me, sniffed my hand and encouraged a scritch from me 😆

People can be funny - got on the bus to work this morning, sat next to an older woman reading a book. She immediately closed the book, putting it away about five minutes later 🤔 I mentally shrugged and settled down to revise katakana on my phone till we got to town 🙄

Signed myself up for two evening classes starting in September, for Japanese and Welsh 😅 Excited but nervous! This was part of my plan B if I'd ended up redundant, and I'm following through with it.

Why do changes and transitions always come in groups? Not only am I adjusting to working in the office again after five years, the council have decided we're not allowed to put our recycling in bags anymore and have to just dump it all in the huge communal bins downstairs as is....

Just completed week one of my new role at work, which requires me back in the office full time. Lots to learn, but thankfully it's mostly repetitive tasks so far and they seem happy with how I'm picking them up. Varied enough that hopefully I won't find it too boring once I get to do them solo.

So I *finally* heard back about the internal job I applied for, and I got it! 😌 Mixed emotions as my plan B was looking pretty attractive, but ultimately staying employed needed to take priority. May still do some of the things I was contemplating though!

So, received official confirmation just now that my role has been cut. Waiting to hear about last week's interview - probably find out next week - but as of now I am on paid leave till the end of the month and work will meet with me to confirm all my options and next steps.
