Just remind yourself that you arent actually doing 12.5k 🏞 that is what helps me on big number hikes or looking at a seemingly daunting peak from a distance 🏔 Molas Pass starts at just over 10k whether you start on the Durango side or Silverton, so at least its "only" a 2.5k gain and not more 🚵‍♂️😉😁
Looks way bigger than it is : Mt Mestas is 11.5k and where I am standing on my friends conservation land across the valley is around 10k (Fall colors a couple of weeks ago)

Sturgeon Moon Old building on the right was a tavern when UpTop was still a bustling area during the coal mining era. My little princess 😉 She's a Valley Bulldog: English Bulldog x Boxer. She was a rescue from a person who bred designer breeds and was also a hoarder. Our camper is on the right. The log building is the old tavern and is in the process of being brought back to life. The building on the right is The Pld Depot, which was built during the 1800s. Sunset The main building in the UpTop Historic District is now my friends dads house. They bought the property back in 2021.

I went to Steamboat Springs last weekend for my best friends birthday, and we stopped to have a drink w an old friend: Our dear friend Jeff - known to most as Frodo - passed away and his ashes were put in the soil of the maple tree 🌳 🫶
