Our cross is the point of our unlikeness to the image of Christ, where we must die to self in order to be raised by God into wholeness of life in the image of Christ right there at that point.

Isn't that part of the problem with social media? It's great at first, but when it takes off, it becomes a commercialized, bot-filled, shouting box of ideology. I remember when people would post what they were eating on Twitter. I thought it was a waste. Looking back, it was the good old days.
