Not 100% sure I agree. Maybe it never took root because the extreme version of socialism is as bad as our current extreme version of capitalism. In both systems, bad actors always end up taking power and controlling resources. There is sanity somewhere in between.

I appreciate Pete and would love to see him in the Oval Office, but I don’t see how we can get there from here with the current state of our information outlets and the HUGE corrupting influence corporate / ultra wealthy in politics on both sides. I’m willing to keep trying, but not optimistic .

Love this sentiment, but I struggle with it. We need to have kindness and grace, but we still need to punish those who are happy to hurt others. I’m tired of being told to be kind open minded when MAGA is not just excused, but elevated.
