My favorite thing from the Marines doc so far is Chelsea Yarnell's large-format candids from the 31st MEU.

Can anyone ID this camera so I can know how far out of my price range it is?

The eastern edge of the chop line 30° W (which fattens out to 25°W to accommodate the eastern tip of Brazil is much closer to Morocco than to Venezuela. See attached.

Lots of reasons this is highly unlikely. I would imagine we're on the wrong end of a game of telephone.

Going through the cruise book for USS Nimitz's first deployment for a piece that'll come later, I found this gem. You always look your best when you're convalescing, wrapped in Ace bandages.

These are the ships the Pentagon/OMB factored into the "two bills, one budget" FY26 plan that would be paid for by reconciliation.

This was a late file becasue we wanted to take pains to see how the base budget interacted with the reconcilliation proposal with some slick interactive graphics. Too long, didn't click, more than half of the shipbuilding budget is contingent on the big, beautiful bill passing.

Writing up a story on the first mine-hunting mission package on the LCS deploying — like ten years late. Assembling materials I found a killer 'Accelerate Your Life' ad with the RMS one of the least reliable things the Navy ever bought.

Here’s the kills from USS Spruance time at the Red Sea.
Looking forward to it being aggregated later.

Finally made it to Iowa. 4/4 battleships – top tier stuff dads only care about achievement.
For an encore I drove my family by the Long Beach container ship terminal. Bring on the model trains.

Dress for the job you want. In my case, it’s an upright bass player in the brunch jazz trio. We get paid in prime rib and hollandaise sauce.

Are we doing TILs here?
If so, TIL the Navy has a weird 'Cleatus the Robot' knock off mascot for their remote work platform.
