I've been trying to think through this "tool" approach where you can have tools be part of the canvas, think trays for uploads, or mini composers. they can be unpinned and move as you pan around, or you can pin them so they follow you around. you can even play snake with them.

driving through northern ontario on the cusp of autumn is very nice. so much has changed since I was here 6 weeks ago, more orange. last leg back to vancouver now, can't wait to see my favourite parks and feed the crows! a few thousand kms to go.

a bit of canadian diversity
Kokanee Lake, British Columbia. A mountain lake framed by rocky alpine slopes and dense forest. The trail leads to the shoreline, which is strewn with boulders and driftwood. two butterflies at lake superior
Two butterflies rest on sandy, textured ground beside Lake Superior. In the foreground, an Eastern Comma butterfly displays its cryptic underside coloration - mottled brown and tan wings that blend seamlessly with the surrounding sand and small debris, nearly invisble. Alberta is so different to BC.

The hike to Kokanee Lake is stunning, beautiful British Columbia at it's finest.

Driving through interior BC in June

some more birdies, this time some cliff swallows (I think) nesting outside a washroom building in the salmon arm, bc.

Great Blue Heron at 13:05

No shots between, but similar framing, totally unintentional. Something subconscious, maybe.

The are hills in the background, covered in dense pine. The shot feels spacious, and candid, almost like the bird stepped into the composition by accident. A western grebe floats on the surface of a lake, positioned in the lower right quadrant of the frame. The water is calm with gentle ripples and occupies the entire frame. The grebe is angled left, its body gliding on the surface of the water. Its getting ready for another dive with it's long neck and narrow head.
