Coming back to this after a day of it in my ear. It’s good. It’s an earworm. It ain’t winning but I’ll give it its flowers

That’s cool. As I said, it’s not that I dislike it and genuinely hope it does well but I don’t see it but want to be proven wrong of course!

Death Metal would be a touch far (although I’d love it) but honestly something in the ball park of Bad Omens or Bring Me The Horizon would genuinely be different and atleast shake things up. Hell even some Hyperpop. Just not straight up Radio 1 friendly pop as it has been for the last 3 years.

If they buy Ireland last year they can buy it from us surely. That was a complete risk and it paid off massively. You’re right, Sweden have a formula and have won with their output. We haven’t but continue to do similar things. Shake it up a bit is all I’m asking and if it fails then nothing lost.

Let’s wait and see I guess. I’ll be happily proven wrong. If it doesn’t do well though maybe we should look at other genres than standard pop or pop-adjacent at least for one year just to test the waters.

I think what I’m getting at is I wish we’d actually take some risks when it comes to our selections.

There are no real moments in this song at all. Nicely sung but tell me right now what the 10 second clip they’ll show during voting will be from this song. It doesn’t really go anywhere.

Just look at the favourites so far - each bring something entirely different but modern. This feels dated.

I wish someone at the BBC would look at what has won over the last couple of years and try to figure out the winning formula at bit. This isn’t for me, I don’t think it’s bad but it’s not anything and certainly not at all competitive even in a weaker year like this one. It’s a radio song.

Gåte obviously. Sorry.

I’m so depressed that nothing will approach how good Gåte is this year but I’m optimistic I’ll be suprised.
