This was on the poetryisnotaluxury Instagram today and I felt it reverberate against my ribcage.

My son has been very into climbing trees lately, which I find both anxiety inducing and cool! Guess it’s time to invest in a tree house…

I am chopped liver compared to my mom these days for my four year old. He’s always walking around the house, hands on his hips asking “Where’s that grandma?” Grandma is his best friend.

Rainy days are not always my kid’s favorite but I do love the cozy afternoons inside. 💕🌧️

Gilbert took the kid to the park so I managed to get in the morning Hourlies! Now to abandon the exercise for the rest of the day, as is my tradition.

I’ve been in the process of going through old artwork and reworking some of them to fit my current sensibilities. Below is an update on a painting I originally did in 2018 (I think?). I still liked the general concept, and now it feels much more representative of my current thinking.

New Years Eve has looked a little different for a few years now, full of early bedtimes and missed count downs, and the fresh year creeping in with the sunrise instead of bursting forward at midnight.

Re-reading “A Wrinkle in Time” to my son at bedtime - it’s one of those books that is a delight to read out loud. Thinking of Meg in her attic bedroom. I think I may need to draw Mrs. Whatsit’s dramatic introduction next.
