I'm not sure the account was real (but the slogan is/was and indeed the change is arguably worse) but I associate them with this image (also claims of 'economic radicalism' demonstrated much less than the also-claimed 'social conservatism': www.reddit.com/media?url=ht...

Random irrelevant thought: You wonder how many purveyors of stupid 'islamoleftist' conspiracy theories, particularly re the UK context, know about Lutfur Rahman. You'd think vaguely-corrupt vaguely 'left' Muslim mayor convicted of electoral fraud' would be a lightning rod for them, but is it really?

They *say* it's a gigantic pile of US Treasuries, please pay no attention to the lack of an audit (not that others are better) or their conviction for lying about exactly this in the past. Arguably printing money is even more incredible, particularly when you can get away with it for this long.

I mean, when I remember one of the slogans associated with them being 'Work, Family, Community' it's very 'Not Beating the Allegations'

Everything I've read about him gives off big 'wannabe Labour Right apparatchik' vibes, so potentially he'd be even happier if he was the American Morgan McSweeney, alas for him that's an impossible dream because American political parties do not and cannot work that way.

Of course, LM's editor was made a Baroness by Boris Johnson and obviously after checking she has the position I expected her to have.

McSweeney: “Keir acts like an HR manager, not a leader.” Acolyte of McSweeney:“Keir’s not driving the train. He thinks he’s driving the train, but we’ve sat him in front of the DLR.” Is 'MP who had good fortune to be selected for leadership by currently ruling faction' really that implausible?
Get In by Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund review – behind the scenes with Morgan McSweeney, Labour’s arch strategist
This is a rattlingly good tale of a modern-day Machiavelli that ascribes credit for Labour’s journey to power not to Keir Starmer, but to his Irish chief of staff

Eh, being a former Trotskyist doesn't mean shit, follow the rabbit hole of the career Baroness Claire Fox (and others) if you think it does.

Randomly reminded of this Completely Unrelated Thing (the other site has a nice list of bad New Labour nonsense, I recall Blunkett featuring particularly often (this one's from 2002): www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
Blunkett to stop migrants working
David Blunkett, the Home Secretary, will today unveil plans to strip thousands of asylum seekers of the right to work while their claim to stay in Britain is being assessed.

I mean there's always, uh, the current UK Ambassador to the US. It'd be surprising if they *weren't* on a list.

You know, come to think of it, could you make a limited parallel with 17th century English history - conspiracy theory about James II's baby, Glorious Revolution, retroactive continuity through the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_a... declaring the new monarch and Bill of Rights legal despite everything

Oh I remember once laughing at the list of policies he put in a reddit comment, covering the entire spectrum from 'excellent' to 'evil' (mostly the latter, obviously) Still makes for good popcorn: www.reddit.com/r/slatestarc..., originally found via www.reddit.com/r/SneerClub/...

Any chance of Boris Berezovsky 2: Boer Boogaloo, do you think?

More like Beijing, I think. In the literal sense they do have a small HQ building somewhere in London, I think maybe built by long-time general secretary (and plausibly alleged landlord who sold shawls from Kashmir, hopefully working conditions were good) Harpal Brar. Vice chair's his daughter.

it's an absolutely hilarious article to read (URL is in the alt text), filled with paragraphs you could just post as dunks. Aside from the various mentions on the website, their twitter mentions him exactly once, and it's just as funny:

that feeling when you make the nutty CPGB-ML cult's position on a similar topic (ULEZ) look thought out. Just don't ask them about their position on, say, the Capitol rioters.

Parliaments are obviously also fine as long as they allow the naturally democratic outcome of winning a landslide with 33.7% of the vote. Who cares about the majority when you have a plurality, anyway?

It's probably fitting that the original country this meme is referencing is Taiwan?

Eyup Lovely as an example of using Twitter as intended by Musk: Constantly maximum-trolling a shithole. Amusing for some, but definitely not *good*. Dramatic 'return' more likely than not (did that for Easter I think, you get the idea)

Reminds me of something in a interactive roleplaying game I read: AI rational cult corporation has kept 'failing' to make superintelligences - an example of one from a liberated planet: what they *wanted* was a god-slave, what they *got* was an overactive child.
