Pudding is still limping but, despite us putting the large pillows down everywhere, refuses to stay downstairs if I'm upstairs in my room. He's always been a very social cat and hates being left alone, though I suspect him constantly making the trip up the stairs is because he also wants sympathy.

It is the bank holiday weekend before the big move to Scotland and so of course Pudding got in a fight and has a limp. We are out at the emergency vet where, going by sheer numbers, we are likely to remain for the day. Sigh.

Went out to Marble Hill today and had a really great time learning a lot about wallpaper and painting, and really enjoyed the gorgeous grounds!

The only plus side to this situation is that the current haircut is not as bad as the previous one where I, a person in their 40s, ended up looking like a school-age child who has forgotten to do their Hindi homework.

I have to stop letting loud brown people cut my hair because I am so inured to not being allowed to have an opinion in the process that I will 100% let them give me a haircut that makes me look like a teen from the early 2000s about to fail their board exams.

Although he looks adorable, Pudding is a bit of a menace. Was I woken out of a sound nap by this cat trying to claw his way up and into my t-shirt? Yes.

Was only one of us able to return to sleep right after like nothing had even taken place? Also yes.

Finally wore this skirt out of the house and somehow resisted the urge to howl WHABAM any time anyone noticed how high this side slit goes.

Arrived home and have been confronted by a Pudding deeply betrayed by my choice to leave the house instead of properly supervising his usual afternoon nap in my bed.

This is my exact expression about 65% of the time on any given day.

(In other news, wandered around Apsley House for the first time today and had a fairly amazing time chatting about historical conservation, paintings, ventilation, carpets, etc with their site team.) #EnglishHeritage

Found a really good deal so got myself a bunch of used cookbooks for winter. I've been tired of my own cooking for a bit and I do find food shopping is easier if I plan out my recipes in advance.

Headed up to Scotland today to see some friends over the coming week. Pudding insisted on helping with packing last night but had to be gently informed that he was not coming along.
