Echo has trained Katydid well on her #Hedgewatch procedures. She was dozing on my lap when suddenly she shot up like a rocket. I pause the tv and realize someone was in the hallway, coming home. She squeaks and he comes running to inspect.

Yesterday the art museum had a teacher night. I chose the story telling through weaving class. We got to use various fibers to weave on a painted canvas board and were told to collage and add items to add to the story. I can’t wait to teach this to my 3rd graders!

My first graders learned about the story quilt work of Faith Ringgold. Then using torn paper collage they created their own self portrait quilt square. Together we are a quilt!

My fourth graders just finished their first semester assessment! We had to study the portrait of Chief White Cloud and the symbols it contains. They then had to create their own self portrait and fill it with ‘symbols’ of things they like and tell us about them

My 3rd graders finished cityscape and landscape. So the next project is FantasyScape! I told them they could create any fantasy scene so long as it was school appropriate. They then had to write 7-10+ sentences to tell the story of their artwork.
