I’m beyond shocked at how quickly we have complied and I will not stand for it. DEI hiring is good for everyone. We must fight this.
Email to: Greg.Wheeler@ci.bremerton.wa.us Mayor Wheeler, I am very disappointed to hear about your response to DEI and the executive order by the sitting president. As you know, many of these executive orders are not legal, and are not enforceable. They are wanting us to comply and turn away from what we know is right, and DEI hiring is not just good for diverse candidates, but for everyone. Please reconsider this decision, and consult legal representatives and other jurisdictions around us. We have to hold strong. We have to continue to stand up for those who don’t have the power to do so themselves. As a member of this community, I demand better for the Bremerton I know and love.
