A fabulous new outing for DS Max Craigie - and the stakes could not be higher. From the policing to the Scots accents, the authenticity is second to none, and the dialogue is fast and fun. Tense and thrilling.
The Dark Heart by @neillancaster66.bsky.social out March 2026!

Nine years ago today, I left my nice job in HR at a certain retail company to be a writer. I had 80% of a finished book, my son was starting school and the time felt right.
And here I am - 15 published books, with 6 more to come over the next few years.
Best decision I ever made!

I interrupt the usual dog focussed programming with a quick PSA that The Puppet Master is currently 99p on Kindle! So if you like your serial killers creepy and manipulative, now’s the time.

For some unknown reason, I thought Deep End was YA. It is NOT. Basically diving stuff with hot tall Swedish man (and anyone who knows me is aware how much I like those) - plus some seriously kinky sex. Bloody loved it.

Today, I wanted to share a few photos of this beautiful boy. His name was Hugo and he was my parent's dog. He was a lovely black Labrador and sadly died last year, but those of you who have read Broken House will recognise him as Will's digi-dog.
He would have made an excellent police dog.

Thank you so much to everyone who has read and reviewed Broken House so far! Putting reviews on sites such as Amazon makes a huge difference to authors - the algorithm Gods approve, and are more likely to recommend it to future readers as a result. I so appreciate it.

Oh, but this one was fun. Lovely MMC, although I have to say that despite her protestations the FMC did come across as a bit of a child at times!
Great read, fabulous banter between Maya and Conor, perfect Sunday reading.

When a new mother gets sick and finds herself on the transplant list, there is nothing she won’t do for a new heart. Twisty and tantalising, this original debut takes us into the darkness of human desperation and asks: who would you kill to save yourself?

Happy Dutch publication day to me and De Countdown Killer! I hope you all enjoy it!

I wrote the last chapter today but this is far from the end. In fact, this is probably the most chaotic a first draft has ever been.
Tomorrow I go back to the beginning and start plotting the living daylights out of it!

Is Connie Cross a victim or a murderer? Or both? That’s the question we’re left to ponder in CONNIE, as ex-cop Olivia starts digging into Connie’s case. Twisty and satisfying.
Out January.

When two teenagers are found murdered, Aleks Storm and Maïa Rehn can’t help but see the connection with a young woman’s murder 23 years ago. Relevant and timely, SCARS OF SILENCE is compulsive whodunnit, with a strong and important message, tackling issues of great relevance in today’s world.
