tbh i'm not really sure, i just kinda scaled it up, made it look more like the artwork. and then scaled it down, compared the scaled down version to the original sprite and made edits until it scaled perfectly

not really lol, i just kinda made a big mario, then scaled down into normal size, and kept editing it until it looked like normal smb1 mario when scaled down
