Last night it was claimed that all 8 Dems (and Schumer) who voted for the CR had significant campaign contributions from the American Airlines PAC. I suspect that had more to do with it than private jets. Most of those have smaller airports within 50 miles happy to have them.

If the top income tax rate was 94% like in 1943-44, and the tax bracket started at $3.75M (1943$200K, inflation adjusted), the US would collect $257.5M/day or $94B/yr.

SNAP & WIC combined in the US cost $100.3B last year.

I think it would be better to expand the scope of the group to investigate illegal activities of ANY government officer - federal, state or local - but this is a reasonable start.

Generally, those decisions are at the county level rather than state, at least here in the West.

I'd bet the ones who voted against all represent states with companies that have large military contracts... who may have contributed to their campaigns at some point.
