At the @artandolfaction finalists announcement we had the opportunity to enjoy a part of Miss Layla's artistry in this perfume - the base! A soft, mineral warmth that didn't feel quite earthbound and an elusive sweetness that I couldn't pin down at the time. I kept coming back to it, because it was playing at the edges of some of my favorite scent profiles! Gift giving is our quiet way of saying I see you, I love you, I'm thinking of you. When we gifted perfumes to family in Taiwan a new (old) feeling of giddy enthusiasm and nerves popped up. Like kids roping their adults into show and tell - "Look what we made!" Grove is in the Heart, Golden Hour, Great Lei, and Tea House were standout hits. Debbie's 7 year old cousin doused her stuffed penguin in Beach Berry and over the course of the week made a small ritual of asking family members to smell its belly 😂 We visited several perfume boutiques, smelled our way through their collections, and broke our small bottle rule every time. We brought gifts too - bc how often do we get to share space with fellow indie perfume lovers? We also need to practice squashing the belief that sharing our work irl with shops is presumptuous or inconveniencing. In other contexts, we gift without reservations. Generosity feels good for everyone involved! Let us be generous and receive generosity unselfconsciously! ✨️ Dear reader, we hope you enjoyed witnessing this caption spiral into a self peptalk. Osmanthus Dragon's Beard Candy! The most recent treat to delight us! A fluffy, incomparable texture (not even cotton candy) that melts in our mouth. A slighty crispy peanut sugar center and bitter little osmanthus buds on top. Smells floral, nutty, and similar to shortbread cookies! #perfumesky

Got the hot tip from a local that the best way to beat Bangkok traffic (which is arguably worse than LA's) is to travel the city by boat! It's also one of the least expensive ways to get around other than bus! Paid 14 baht or .41 USD to travel five stops!

Dent alert?? This is the fastest we've gone through a perfume! Less than a month and 1/3 used. "Tea Service" also pairs beautifully with our bug spray which is a win we didn't anticipate 😂
