Stop by Acoustic Java tomorrow (7/27) at 2 pm for the next Friends of Worcester Wildlife meetup. We are focused on ending the use of anti-coagulant rodenticides dangerous to wildlife, pets, and people. All are welcome. Attendees receive a highly coveted “I’m a friend to Worcester’s wildlife” button!

Fantastic day at the State House with hundreds of others advocating for state legislation to restrict anti-coagulant rodenticides that are decimating wildlife populations and putting people and pets at risk too.

I found this great photo taken in 1984 of a business called Frenchy’s Hair Styling on South Main Street in Worcester. It was one of many taken by the photographer John Margolies of roadside attractions across the U.S.

Look at the location of the Camp Mystic site on the FEMA flood map - a significant portion is in the floodway, the most dangerous inland flood zone. It’s tragic that for whatever reasons (lack of communication, funding, political will) the data was not acted upon. Those girls paid with their lives.

Recently received this wonderful cyanotype print of Mt Fuji I ordered from @pinakographos.bsky.social recent Kickstarter. This photo really doesn’t the blue justice but it still looks pretty darn good.

I found my boy Winston on the Worcester library’s March Meowness wall of cats. Can you spot him? He’s the most handsome one, of course.

My boy Winston was a feral too. He still has his feral ways but also spends a lot of time sleeping on fancy linen sheets.
