The horse I ride is named Whiopa, and I can’t figure out the origins of such a name. Anyone here know if Whiopa is a name, a place, a word? Maybe a different spelling? The search engines haven’t been helpful.
She’s a registered Canadian Horse, if that is helpful.

I feel so privileged to get such clear night skies out where I live. I went for a post-sunset snowshoe in the dark wood nearby, and while a headlamp was necessary to see the trail, I couldn’t help but turn and off and let me know yes adjust to the light of the night

I’ve joined the local volunteer Search and Rescue group, and we had a month long training program before being cleared for duty. Honestly, a lot of fun! We completed a full simulation last Saturday and found our missing hunter! 🌲👷♀️
