unbothered. in my lane. focused. flourishing. deep in my travel era. adding to my art collection.
Watched The Rip. The plot is absolutely ridiculous but I was entertained. Only watched it because Kyle Chandler is in it.

Got my first shingles shot yesterday. Yes it hurt. And now I ache all over, have a sore throat, and I’m so tired. But I definitely don’t want shingles! Already scared of shot 2 in a few months.

Every Jan 1 I download my annual credit card spending report and evaluate what I spent, decide if certain subscriptions are still worth it, evaluate what I’m spending on groceries, gas, utilities, etc, and plan for the new year. Here I go. 🫣

As my main focus going into 2026 is trying to retire, I hope this is a good omen.

IRS: You owe us taxes.

Americans: How much?

IRS: Figure it out yourself.

Americans: So I can pay how much I want?

IRS: No. We know exactly how much you owe us but you have to figure it out yourself.

Americans: What if I guess wrong?

IRS: Jail.

There is sunshine coming through all my windows for the first time in weeks! The December valley fog has been relentless this month. I got a full 8 hours of sleep + sunshine and I’m feeling energized. Going to write a to do list of personal and home things to take care of before 1/1.

Me every 12/23 b/c Dec is my busiest month at work, “What day is it? What time is it? What do you mean Christmas is in 2 days? Out of the office until Jan? But you owe me data! Christmas can’t be in just 2 days. How many more Decembers before I retire?”

Why does the Apple TV app on my phone alert me to NFL games? 1) I don’t watch football, 2) I don’t care about any pro sports), 3) I don’t pay for Apple TV, and 4) I have ALL notifications turned off on my phone except calls/texts from 2 people.

A thread: I waited 3 yrs for my dream apartment to be available. (No longer desire to be a homeowner.) Moved in end of August. Had been saving the whole time to buy new furniture. Waited 2 mos for that to arrive. One day it arrived before I badly injured my right hand (dominant hand).

Sick for the 1st time in almost 6 years. What I thought was exhaustion from walking a ton of miles each day during last weekend’s mini vacation ended up as this terrible respiratory virus. Just hope it doesn’t stick around for a month or so like I’m reading about online.

I have not looked at my work email for 4 days. Scared what I will find. This was hopefully my 2nd to last thanksgiving holiday break before retirement. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Is All's Fair good? No. Is it believable? No. Is it kind of entertaining? Yes. I mean they’ve got Jessica Simpson and Rick Springfield playing a married couple.

Every day, AI looks more like the 2008 housing bubble. Wrappers on wrappers.

The wrappers are wrapping wrappers. With companies valued at insane amounts with zero profit.

Thankful to get my flu shot yesterday (for free) but it just knocks me out for a solid 24 hrs. I’ve got $9 in Amazon media credits about to expire on Monday and I’m going to burn through them all today. 🛋️

I moved, and my body feels broken. But I have never been more content or happy with my home in all of my 51 years. I won’t have some furniture until October, but the amount of pure joy I have every minute living here is unmatched to any other place I have lived. Feeling blessed and grateful.

I watched the Dallas Cowboys documentary this weekend, and can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. I’m a life long 49ers fan! Doc was so well done and so interesting. The 90s were awesome. Emmett Smith still looking goooooood. 😉 That man has the best smile.

If I knew that sleep after age 50 was going to be so elusive I would have really cherished all those nights of 8+ hours of sleep I used to get. How can I be so exhausted and wide awake at the same time?

The only things I bought on prime sale were socks and a lower back gel ice pack band and I’m so excited for it all to be delivered today. This is middle-age.

The landscaper singing karaoke on #AJLT is the best scene so far in the series and that really says it all. 😂

Up until 2:30am binge watching Sirens. It was so entertaining but I’m going to need a nap later.

Today feels like a day to watch Singles and Reality Bites and pretend it’s the early 90s.

Been going to the same hair stylist for over 15 years. Funny how now we always end up discussing our newest physical ailments. Fluid retention has been the hot topic the last 3 months.

Today was probably my last “event” 5k. My friends and I all said the same thing: we’re done getting up at 6am for these things. Frankly, I’m done having to get out of bed before 7:45 unless there’s an emergency or I’m traveling.
