I'm assuming because people have nothing else to do in your park other than spend more money. All in, a really poor family day out. Won't be coming back to Alton Towers any time soon .

Finally the food and drink prices are extortionate. £3.50 for a bottle of water, £8 for a sausage roll. However the poor ride availablity looks to work in your favour as most concession stands had significant queues.
