I agreed with you at the time, but didn’t want to believe it. i’m about ready to start boycotting brands that are replacing creative roles with AI and lying about it.

Funny how a studio like this can work magic if they are given the time and space to do so.

Short answer? Reasonably sized multiplayer maps that are super super super super well optimized. This dev team knows what they're doing.

This game is also by FAR the best running UE5 game I've seen, for similar reasons.

I started The Enchanted Greenhouse this week! I was worried about picking it up originally, given the fate of the character as described in the previous book. Once I learned that this book STARTS with that, rather than ENDS with it, it changed my perspective and I got excited for more cozy fantasy!

A sane body of legislators would impeach and remove to counter blatant disregard of judicial rulings, but here we are.

All of this is making me want a beautiful old radio to play with! @trickycrayon.bsky.social this is your fault - get me one for my birthday

It's weirdly hard to find good info on how their cord-antenna setup worked, but this wiring diagram makes it pretty clear that it is attached to the power cord, but via a capacitor. You are safe to leave that lug detached, but can always tape it if you don't trust that capacitor.

Unless the receiver circuit is damaged in some way on your KLH 21, I doubt a modern radio would be as selective (or sensitive, for that matter). It's still worth testing on a couple of different radios to see if you have different results, but I agree that fiddling with an antenna is your best bet.
March 26, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Another thing that may help is a radio receiver with better "selectivity". These days it's hard to find a broadcast FM receiver with much care put into circuit design, but they're out there. Depending on what radio you're using, you might have better luck with a different one.

Yeah!

A cheap dipole *may* help, but it really depends on where the desired and undesired stations are located. A dipole antenna is directional, though, so if the two stations are not coming from a similar (or opposite) direction, it may help.

I should see if I can get some updated maps though. Mine are from the 90s probably

But here's something even wilder - many of the colors we perceive in the world are just as WRONG as magenta. We might see something as yellow, but it's extremely unlikely that it's reflecting only yellow light. It could even be reflecting green and red light in equal parts, and no yellow at all!

Hotter take: BEING THE WEIRDEST COLOR OF ALL MAKES IT EVEN COOLER? How could you not love purple!
