Exactly. I’m not saying the DNC needs a Marjorie or Gaetz… but there’s a reason why populism is well… popular.

Yep… and I’m afraid it’s symptomatic of the Democratic Party writ large- the DNC wants our support to win elections, and then doesn’t care afterwards

The point is, not every voter will take all this time/energy to get involved. If someone is activated for whatever reason and can’t get into a campaign/volunteer drive w/in 5 min, then the party is out of touch

My local reps are dems/haven’t had a serious primary challenger for years… right now no one is campaigning against Kiley, so no one to reach out to.

Sure, I’ll stop by their offices, but what you shared isn’t an excuse. CA Dems need to step up
March 18, 2025 at 2:49 AM
Sure. I used to work in state politics. Haven’t seen any candidates in the assembly that excite me
March 18, 2025 at 2:44 AM
Sure - but there are different candidates running, and supporting the candidate that best aligns with my values now will increase their chances of winning the general in November 26

What’s saddening is the lack of engagement from the state/local democratic parties when I’ve reached out

For example, I have eyes on Kevin Kiley’s seat. Having spent portion of my life around Placer county, I know he’s much more vulnerable than what the polls/previous results show

Many GOP reps are abandoning their posts and up for re election in purple districts up and down CA. We also have a gubernatorial election coming up
March 18, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Like sincerely, I do want to get involved. I believe there are VERY vulnerable republicans in my state that are cowering behind Trump, and a true populist pro Union pro Middle Class candidate could take down.

You’d think they’d be clamoring to get voters more engaged well before the elections…. Smh Ken Martin needs to step up

It’s a great book!
