Rural hospitals struggle to keep the lights on even with income from Medicaid. With major Medicaid cuts, hospitals probably won’t get paid for all their services, and it will cause them to either close or make staffing cuts. Small communities will end up losing many of their better jobs.

I recently talked to a child care worker who said that she only gets minimum wage and that her employer is understaffed.

I know nothing about the expenses related to daycares, but the original post combined with my recent conversation spikes my curiosity.

With the their past actions and what we know about their ideologies , it wasn’t hard to see happening. I imagine Trump will back away from the idea a bit due to the backlash from the Saudis. His family has a lot of money to lose if the Saudis pull their money.

I doubt Elon recuses himself from any “conflicts of interest”, but I am certain he will do anything he can to destroy “conflicts to his interests.”

This same type of reporting happens daily on the local tv station that I watch in Arkansas. I’m guessing a large part of rural America faces the same issue.

It would be interesting to find out why the numbers are down. Is cord cutting the issue causing the reduced numbers, or is it something like fans losing interest in the sport?

The local Democrat organization in the county where we grew up doesn’t even advertise their events. It seems like they are more worried about their dinners in Little Rock instead of growing their local base.

I’m a bit surprised that people just don’t care about the security issues that come from TikTok and the influence that Communist Party of China gains by controlling the platform.

So many people will refuse to recognize this part of the bigger story because it doesn’t align with their political biases. Once the original story was told, the damage was done, and the lies will not be unheard.

I wish the DOC would do a better job of making programs available to inmates on day one. Everyday that inmates are ineligible for skill building programs or programs beyond gaining a GED, they are more at risk for falling into an “inmate rules” lifestyle. Inmates need to do something besides waiting

It will be interesting to see where studies like this lead to over the next 10 to 20 years.

Unfortunately, they are more driven by corporate profits and a marketing department’s strategy to increase ad sales.

My biggest gripe about CNN is they let spin drown out context and the words that come out of politicians’ mouths.
For example, several times a certain politician would say something extreme and then some talking head would come on and tell us what the politician was really trying to say.

I have a hard time understanding why we give so many corporations subsidies and tax incentives to establish products or services of need, and those same corporations continually jack up prices on those products and services for record profits. It is not fair to their competitors or the tax payers.

I tend to think that lives of the inmates and the guards are about to become more difficult. When the “good time” is taken away, some inmates will have no incentive to withhold from partaking in inappropriate behavior. Too many bad actions already take place, and they are just going to get worse.

We are in an age where people are no longer trying to hide the fact that they are trying to purchase political favors. Unfortunately, half the country is probably okay with it or deny that is what is happening.

The only qualification for being a conservative politician in the modern day is to attack the quality of life safety nets that are essential for raising or keeping people out of poverty.

There is not enough competition in the Airline industry. The demand outweighs the number of options, so the airlines can do whatever they want and still have customers. We have allowed too many mergers and have too many barriers that prevent enough new competition from entering the market.

I haven’t watched a whole wrestling show in over a year. I’ve been DVRing the WWE and watching only certain parts. I was able to get through the 3hr Raw in about 20 minutes. I don’t watch stuff like the Wyatt 6. I basically have quit watching besides a few segments that WWE promotes well.

I just can’t watch AEW anymore because of all the stupid stuff. They fire Punk for little altercation, and then they expect us to believe that the wrestlers are committing severe felonies on national tv without any repercussions from the law. It’s just too stupid for me.

I wonder about the impact of the Truth in Sentencing Act on the whole prison system. With no meaningful incentives for inmates to behave, what will keep a longterm inmate from trying to escape if the opportunity presented itself? With 3000 inmates and novice guards, it seems like issues could occur.
