I'm looking forward for its inevitable implosion that takes itself out with its collapse, it's getting exponentially sooner every day. I take great joy in hearing about the ones struggling and failing from their own rising costs

You're doing great! My advice is to have a general set of as many arbitrary ideas as possible to pull from whenever needed. We're not so much writing the story as we are guiding it, so the broader an idea the better it can align with comments you may not have expected but like the direction of

I have a feeling you'll probably enjoy them both based on your style alone. They're very old point and click adventure games so be careful not to spoil yourself if you look them up. They're also getting harder to find/run over the years so feel free to reach out if you do try and have any trouble

Dude the vibe of this is already incredible. I hate to compare, but I've found hardly anything capturing the beautiful blend of interesting unnatural elements and surreal eerie emptiness I felt from The Neverhood/Full Pipe, and you've already matched it from just the intro and page 1. This rules

Ah yes, beepbox is good. I used to block out any melodies and early compositions with it real quick whenever they popped into my head during my commute on the train

As someone who's done the same, I'm interested in what you ended up going with

You work primarily on paper, so you have the benefit of being able to naturally depict any character post explosion as a literal thumbprint smear of graphite

If you like Famitracker, but not specifically being limited to NES instrumentation, Fast Tracker 2 has been ported from DOS to modern machines. I used to use said DOS version way way back in the day before moving to FL Studio. Alternatively, Reaper or Waveform Free are definitely worth a try

Sonic's core concept of speed genuinely hurts the games on both a technical and hardware limitation level, and ends up creating more problems that you then have to fundamentally solve as gameplay mechanics than it does at inherently fun and unique ones

As someone who absolutely hates all social medias, this is excellent advice and I couldn't agree more. We're in the process of seeing all forms of independent art eclipsing big studios, and any connection with fellow artists can lead anywhere now more than ever. I certainly need to do it more myself
