I left it there for the fun Fe oxidation color change and now it looks like this
50 mL falcon tube with an intense but soft yellow color and a black layer on the bottom. The lab tech said it is the color of kraft Mac n cheese water

Took our Fe2 stock and made some Fe(OH)2 (accidentally) while trying to buffer the stock to pH near 7, which turns out to be a lovely color
A photo of some 50 mL falcon tubes in a rack in a fume hood. One is a dark blue color, with a bit of green, like a stormy coastal sea. It's bubbling because I have a needle in it releasing nitrogen gas. The rim of the tube is more orange-ish because the Fe(OH)2 is oxidizing to Fe(OH)3
