Believe me, I agree. Especially since it’s technically more ableist to have people sit in long lines in the beating summer sun in Pittsburgh in July. I saw multiple had passed out from heat exhaustion just from pre reg last year.

We heard that one of the board members mentioned they didn’t wanna mail badges because it might be ableist due to people having adhd/anxiety/autism and they might lose them.

Poodling is such a non issue, but for a con that wouldn’t even mail out badges be cause it’s “ableist” is now forcing people who might be intolerant to heat to be uncomfortable and place themselves in a dangerous situation in order to participate.

It’s honestly not even just that. The problem is now they’re policing what can even be in the parade. “Pre-approving” suits, it can’t JUST be a mini partial suit, and has to add more to the character to be within guidelines. No handlers unless needed for ADA compliance or under 14 years old.
