The miles of hiking and biking paths there have become my family’s happy place!
I live near Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, in IL. The conservation and restoration work there by the US Forest Service, turned a WWII ammunition facility back into 20k acres of tallgrass prairie. This prairie is full of native plants, and animals, and even includes a resident buffalo herd.

“Suffer the Little Children” is a TV documentary from 1968 that deals with the conditions of Pennhurst State Hospital, and the people institutionalized there. It is stomach churning, and very hard to watch.

I think many people forget that there are sports where genders compete against each other-equestrian sports come to mind. Trust me-the horse doesn’t do all the work.

Rep. LaHood (and I use the term Rep. very loosely) had 18 sheriffs deputies guarding his office from the very peaceful protesters across the street last time he made it to his district. Spineless coward!

It seems Comrade LaHood is too busy bending over to do anything for his actual constituents. My husband and I keep calling, and reminding him how scraped his knees must be by now.
