'The Government backed down on housing changes - could they back down on the gas levy too?'

'Seymour said people did want housing intensification but they wanted to see it being consistent and looking sensible, saying it would be "crazy" to have a field of single family homes with a 150 metre tower in the middle.'

What, like Takapuna does already?

I've always really loved the stock photo of Chris Bishop they use at RNZ. Gives him a dreamy, deep thinker look.

Andy Knight

Mr Knight is the former chief executive of The Gas Industry Co, one of the gas sector’s co-regulators. He is chair of Taranaki Iwi Holdings Management and a director of the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA) as well as of […]

Two simple chilling facts

1. There's four orders of magnitude more solar energy available than we need to power civilization.

(Although now that I think about it, if it's Ecotricity, maybe they should be the ones opting out of the whole thing.)

"New electricity levy ‘not a tax’, PM says"

That's cool, because I can't opt out of paying taxes, but I don't want any gas so I guess I can just skip this definitely not a tax. #nzpol

"But the Government stood strong: It was not a tax"

Is it optional? Can I just not pay it and nothing happens? No? Well then, it's a tax. #nzpol

Well, I now have my new gaming PC. It is 100% Linux.

Slight problem: the computer shop neglected to tell me the password for the user they created on it for me. However I would not be a very good Linux geek if I did not know how to get around *that* would I?
