Just for comparison, here’s what the view is outside during the day. As you can see there aren’t any large buildings or trees in the distance the light could have been hanging from. It hasn’t reappeared that I’ve been able to notice since that night. We’ve been joking it was aliens.

Here’s the shot I took. It stayed there for between 1-2 hours as far as I know — I wasn’t watching continually. I looked out two other times and it was there, then not long after 2 am it was gone. My second thought was that it was the moon (nope) or a large holiday decoration in the distance (nope).

I’m not a lawyer but I’m pretty sure this level of abuse of the Irony Fairy’s corpse constitutes necrophilia.

The only good thing about the horrors to come in the next few years will be sipping tea while watching this entire generation of white dude journalists and their complicit cool girl counterparts cry about layoffs and the “AI” replacements taking over their industry.
