The reason is interesting, it happens a lot in lower levels of rally & racing when switching to different Tire brands, despite putting your best it doesn't reflect on the timing board didn't know it can happen to the top boys too

To hide the information like temperatures, boost, setup info etc displayed on the steering wheel from rival teams.
