If you come across me, I'll probably be talking about old video games or bad memes.
The guy mentioned in the article lived in Syria until the 90's, he is not Israeli.

There's an old joke about the Summer Olympics being all about stuff like running 100 meters and swimming in a climate-controlled pool, while the Winter Olympics goes "Ski a few kilometers and then pick up a gun."

Let me put it another way: do you TRUST these giant corporations to preach about what is ethical?
February 9, 2026 at 1:35 AM
Wait, you WANT these multi-billion dollar corporations to lecture you about what is ethical?

I didn't know that a handful of Syrian expatriates were in control of that region!

1. Racism. That is honestly a lot of it.

2. It's not their preferred music.

3. He vocally doesn't like Trump/ICE.

4. They want people to support their alternate Halftime Show with conservative Kid Rock, liking as a way of developing social capital.

Between Super Star, SSU, Planet Robobot, and now (and most obviously) Air Riders, Novas never grant wishes in a peaceful manner.

It's expansion content, so the question is "Does what they're offering really seem like it's worth $20?"

When in doubt, use a Siivagunner version of the track you actually want to use.

The other "joke" was a half-formed Sabaton reference that I'm having trouble making into a punchline.

I never said they were funny.

There are two distinct Hussar-themed jokes I can make here.

I thought Nidhogg was the one that ate the world, and that Jormungandr was just sort of nibbling on its own tail.

6. There has been MASSIVE competition in the "Fandom" space since the 2000's. The MCU alone has 37 feature length films. Star Wars has had 5 films and 350 episodes of TV since 2015. Anime/Manga has become increasingly mainstream and have had plenty of tie-in content.

5. Another part of the appeal was the "mystery" aspect. Though fantasy elements were included, the core plots were based on characters figuring things out. In this case, the series being prolific actually backfires, since people know or can intuit the twists.

4. A lot of what people liked about the series was the setting. Think about how many fans unironically associated themselves with a house. However, the world-building of the books, though not necessarily awful, is limited and flawed enough to discourage discussion, and thus long-term fandom.

2. The series ended nearly 20 years ago. Even the last movie based on the actual books was 15 years ago.

3. The Harry Potter verse stuff we've had since 2011 has been limited. We've had three prequels, of which one was liked, an infamous sequel play, mobile games, and Hogwarts Legacy in 2023.

1. The politics and opinions of JK Rowling herself are what usually dominates headlines nowadays. Ignoring what she's said about transgender people (because everyone else is talking about it), people on the right are not going to support views like being anti-Brexit, opposing Trump in 2016, etc.

Not unreasonable. The first big Direct of the year has happened later the past couple of years, but Nintendo should have a busier lineup than in 2024 or early 2025. And most years from 2019 to 2023 had a February Direct.
