Dartmoor exile, somehow in Swindon. Charity/nature/heritage/politics/data/creative whimsy.
And there’s also a brilliant little Greenhill art gallery showing the fabulous Widdershins exhibition featuring folklore and fantasy pieces by Alan Lee (of Lord of the Rings fame) amongst others. It’s been wonderful.

…not to get all political but this sort of joy and creativity and unabashed silliness is what we all need right now

Have enjoyed an excellent few days back home in the shire (Dartmoor). Carnival was a particular highlight…

I came home specially for this and it was fabulous. This summed it up for me…

Seeing more of these absolute beauties in my garden than for a long time. Are butterflies having a good year? Is it the weather or something else?

Upside of unemployment - time for a stroll through the park after school drop-off. It’s not a bad week/season to be having a break.

I’ve been loving the Merlin bird ID app, but it’s made me realise that bird watching is basically Pokemon Go for grown-ups.

My kids aren’t quite convinced.

But I reckon if @rspb.bsky.social could come up with some sort of bird song x Pokemon app mash-up we might be on to a winner…?

Made it to 20 years today with the excellent @rosswintle.uk. Same as Charles and Camilla. Bet their card wasn’t as good as this one.

The blossom really is bloody beautiful this year isn’t it? This is some fabulous magnolias framing the bandstand at Town Gardens, and some lovely branches poking over my neighbours’ fence today

Off sick today, but at least it gives me the time (between naps) to get started on this from my reading pile.

Someone please reassure me that I’m not the only person that buys beautiful yarn without any sort of actual plan for what to do with it?

Lovely Berto’s - absolute gem of a pizza restaurant on the edge of Dartmoor. Perfetto👌🏻

Approaching the end of a few days back in the homeland, dragging the rest of the family around Dartmoor to force them to look at old stone circles, quarries and rainforests. Lovely stuff.
