I started my, very long, career as a singer with the All girls Ivy Benson band in the sixties, check out Sally and the Alley Cats on YouTube which was a rock band formed from the big band. Mother of a fabulous son and Author of I Can Do children's book.

I agree, I know when I published my children's book my niece who is in education said one of the stories made her cry. A message is a message at any age.

Ours used to arrive on March 1st every year but for the last few years have been arriving earlier and earlier.

If you Google Sally and the Alley Cats you will see those of us who formed her Rock band from within the big band. All her musicians were multi talented for example the keyboard player in the rock band was the lead trombonist in the band.. We recorded it at Abbey Road, great times.
