I had #LongCovid 5+ years

I definitely got worse on 2020 when tried to walk more & went from 1 mile down to 10 paces without chest pain.

I have myocarditis & angina & POTS meds now but Visible still only gives me 4 pace points
Pace points over last month since started Visible ap supposed to stay below 4 but often 8-16 especially on hot weather Today sitting heart rate 59 0.1/4 pace points used 0.1/4 pace points used but at start of week when still hot 4.8 last week was 16! I had got it down to below 4 for a week before it was very hot A hot week blew pace points from 1-4 to 4-16

Grateful to carers and Carers UK for sharing with me the challenges they face. It is wrong that - even after the U-turn - up to 81,000 carers may lose their allowance because of these botched welfare reforms. A more fundamental re-think is needed. Lib Dems will be standing with carers and voting against the damaging UC & PIP payments bill bill reform of the social security system, and agreeing with the Government's principles for providing support to people into work and protecting people who cannot work, declines to give a Second Reading to the Universal Credit and Personal Independent Payment Bill because its provisions have not been subject to a formal consultation with disabled people, or co-produced with them, or their carers; because the Office for Budget Responsibility is not due to publish its analysis of the employment impact of these reforms until the autumn of 2025; because the majority of the additional employment support funding will not be in place until the end of the decade; while acknowledging protection for current claimants, Government has yet to produce its own impact assessment on the impact of future claimants of PIP and UC LCWRA and the number of people, including children, who will fall into poverty or experience worsening mental or physical health as a result, nor how many carers will lose carers allowance; because the Government has not published an assessment of the impact of these reforms on health or care needs; because the Government is still awaiting the findings of the Minister for Social Security and Disability's review into the assessment for Personal Independence Payment and Sir Charlie Mayfield's independent review into the role of employers and government in boosting the employment of disabled people and people with long-term health conditions. This means that no existing claimants will be subject to the 4-point requirement. Including if they undergo an award review, whether planned or due to a change in circumstances. Those making a new claim after the measure comes into force (not before November 2026) will be subject to the 4-point requirement. Who will be impacted? This change protects all claimants in receipt of PIP at the point our changes come into force (not before November 2026). How will the change be delivered in the UC and PIP Bal? Committee, which will mean the PIP 4-point eligibility criteria for daily living does not apply to existing claimants, so that the reforms apply to new claims made after changes come into force. We will also table an amendment for Committee to Clause 5 to remove the provision for a 13-week payment run-on for claimants who would have lost out due to the 4-point requirement. As all existing claimants will no longer be subject to the requirement, there is no need for the 13-week run on. This will be debated at the HoC committee stage of the UC & PIP Bill What has changed? Our change protects UC in real terms for the next four years for both existing LCWRA recipients and any new claimants with 12 months or less to live or a severe, ifelong We wil stil rebalance UC rates by introducing the first ever sustained, above inflation rise in the standard allowance and reducing the LCWRA rate for all non-protected new LCWRA In practice this means: • A new and existing claimants receive an uplift above inflation in their UC standard allowance every year unti 2029/30 - worth around £250 above inflation for a single household aged 25 or over in 2029/30. Existing LCWRA recipients and new claimants with 12 months or less to live of a severe. ifelong condition where we don't ever expect them to work will see their standard allowance combined with their LCWRA rise at least in line with inflation every year from 2028/27 to 2029/30 through a combination of increases to the standard allowance and LCWRA rate. • Limited Capability for Work (LCV) claimants will see the combined rate of their UC standard allowance and LCW rise at least in line with inflation. Our change protects existing LCWRA claimants, those with the most severe, lifelong conditions and those nearing the end of ife, whilst removing the perverse incentives that discourage people from trying work Who will be Impasted? The change wil protect the real-terms income of all existing LCVRA claimants, and al existing and new claimants who have 12 months or less to live or have a severe, lifelong condition who we don't ever expect to work. By 2029/30, the working-age PIP caseload is forecast to be 4.2 million people, at a cost of £34.1 billion per year.83 The rate of increases in claims and expenditure is not sustainable and has outstripped the growth in disability prevalence. 140. Changes are needed that will control the spend on the welfare bill, while continuing to support those people with higher needs relating to their long-term health condition or disability. As described above, we will introduce a new eligibility requirement to ensure that only those who score a minimum of four points in at least one daily living activity will be eligible for the daily living component of PIP. This requirement will need to be met in addition to the existing PIP eligibility criteria. 141. This means that people who have lower needs only in the daily living activities (scoring three or less for each activity) will no longer be eligible for the daily living component of PIP. Meanwhile, people with a higher level of functional need in at least one activity - for example, people who are unable to complete activities at all, or who require more help from others to complete them - will still receive PIP. 142.
