I am at the International Congress for Conservation Biology. So many great talks. I will be talking about aquatic fungal conservation on Wednesday at 3:27pm in P4. Aquatic fungi are data deficient and incredibly important for ecosystem functions. How can we conserve them? #ICCB2025

What's better than one marine mycologist? Two marine mycologists! @fungaldreamteam.bsky.social is visiting @flindersuniversity.bsky.social where we are working on a marine fungi project together. #fungi #marine

I am currently at the joint Australasian Mycological Society and Ecological Society of Australia meeting. It’s huge! 1200 participants. I must say, the calibre of PhD students and early career scientists in Australia is extremely high. #ESAus2024 #conservation 🧪🌍 1/2

13 years ago I found this nice little marine fungus in the Coorong in southern Australia. It has distinctive wavy setae. I was new to phylogenetics, so when I found that it was not in a known family or order I shelved it because it was too hard and I was not confident enough to publish it. 1/3

I am loving this book. It is an enthralling read about the lives of Carl Linnaeus and Georges Louis de Bufon. Highly recommended. #taxonomy #systematics 🧪
