Feels like July not September!
There is all orange come flower in the center of the frame. It’s the only object in focus surrounded by our of focus haze of pale green leaves and deep orange flower petals. In the foreground, in focus, is a flower I’ve never seen before! There are two layers of petals of the flower magenta in the back white around bright yellow stamens. The closest thing it reminds me of it a daisy but on acid. In the background is a bright day in a neighborhood garden. A bright blue sky with perfect clouds. The garden is a cacophony of orange, magenta, and then a riot of sunflowers. It just made me feel joy! I have no idea what they are but they are proud, bright yellow flowers with yellow stamen. The stand on thin green stems and they are framed in the background with green trees in a blue sky. The sun shines directly on the flowers and they are bright yellow! There is a single water lily bud shooting out of a black mirror-like pond. It is surrounded by lili pads. In the background is a rock and a fern mirrored in the pond - the mirror image fills the frame. It gives me calm and makes me grateful.

I know it’s a weed but I love poke weed. It’s beautiful and it reminds me however bad things are I won’t have to boil this weed to make it less toxic so I could eat something. That what this weed meant for some of our ancestors. www.bbc.com/travel/artic...
The frame is filled with the vertical middle of a pokeweed. The bushes beaches are a deep magenta that looks artificial. There are deep purple, almost black berries on magenta stems. The leaves are a deep green and they are shaped like a fat rounded double sided dagger. The leaves jut out aggressive and look sharp. It’s beautiful and looks ancient or otherworldly to me. That’s why I like them even though they are a weed. The frame is filled with one berry branch. The berries are deep purple, almost black on magenta stems. The berries at the end are plump and one is still green. While at the top the berries are already shriveled like poke berry raisins. They are still shiny but super wrinkly. The background is filled the magenta stems and green, fat, daggery, leaves. They look super poisonous! Lol 😂 Like what they give the game master at the end of the first movie of hunger games!

Our hydrangeas think it’s July!
A hydrangea bloom just opening with just the tips of the petals turning blue. The rest of the pompom is a pale yellow/green. Blackberries are my favorite fruit. I used to pick them wild when I was little. The crust was an A plus on this pie and it tasted great. The inside was a disaster! I’m out of practice on my custards it seems!

There is an unbaked pie sitting on a silicone dough rolling sheet. There are 10 slits radiating out from the center in a simple star pattern. This is what my baking guru called her “French dough.” It’s a very slightly sweet pie dough. I rolled the slices of butter in flour with a rolling pin before adding chilled water. While the inside was disappointing the top crust was delicious. It’s a dark golden brown with a pie shine made from a homemade yellow plum cheong.

we had a wee one this year!
3 foot tall baby bear. It ran around the yard timidly at times and like he owned the place at others. He ran across the yard and over the neighbors fence after a frolic.

Beautiful day in Egremont, Berkshire County, MA
This is the tree on Baldwin Hill in Egremont, MA. The field before the tree has just been mowed and the tree rises tall from a field of corn (?). There’s the white house and red barn of a farm peaking out through the windbreak on the far side of the corn field. Mount Everett stands to the far distance and the sky is bright blue with fluffy pulled-apart cotton ball like clouds. Beautiful day. 82 degrees and bright sun. Hiking on Mohican land today, Peeskawso Peak

What a truly gorgeous day!
Bright orange mushrooms peaking out of brown leaves and green moss. The mushrooms are light illuminated by soft beams of light dappled by the heavy forest canopy. In the center is the very distant view of Mount Greylock. The bottom half is deep green and at this distance the short mountain barely sticks above the other hills. The sky above goes from light to dark sky blue. The view is framed by bright green pine branches. Five small, proud, bright orange mushrooms, sprouting in a line down a 10 centimeter piece of sloping green moss. A view northwest from the summit of Peeskawso Peak. In the foreground are 2 ragged triangular gray rocks the one on the left is double the size of the one on the right. The rocks form the edge of a cliff at the summit. Immediately behind the rocks are what looks like a big ocean of pine. The rocks almost look like a diving board for an enormous pool of all shades of green. The sky goes from light blue in the far distance to intense blue as you look up. And at the very top of the photo is a lens flare from the sun that looks like a comet leaving the frame.
