Backgrounds for dummies:

Make a floor plan of the interior of your shot, then use that as your guide! Give it some xyz axes and draw from there.

Same floor plan but skewed into perspective. Walls are roughly draw with the floor as guide

Rough sketches are added and clutter of a litchen are added in. Two characters are also roughly drawn, they are two chefs who looks like the leads from the chinese drama The Untamed. One is holding a duck with a big smile on his face.
