A recurring theme throughout every chapter of her career—from Palestine to Darfur, Sri Lanka to Syria—is that the dignity of victims and survivors must be the foundation of any justice effort. That is one of the many powerful takeaways.

It’s clear - Many of these questions can only be fully addressed through an independent, impartial, and credible justice and accountability process—one that prioritizes the voices of victims while respecting fair trial rights and the presumption of innocence.
