Possible we never get DJT as a candidate or MAGA without the extreme reaction to 8 years of Obama.

Much of what Obama sought to accomplish was stymied along the way for the same reasons, and now plenty he did is targeted for dismantling with the backing of a supermajority conservative Supreme Court

With the context of the fellas that have followed, it’s reasonable to look back on his time with positivity.

However, his avg approval ratings were lower than the four before him (Clinton, Reagan, Bush x2). Much of the real progress made domestically has been dismantled or “returned to the states.”

This feels like a trap.

I’m unable to jump aboard the nostalgia train a lot of people are on about Obama. I remember things as they were.

As someone who used to work with Doctors Without Borders, I distinctly recall him bombing a Doctors Without Borders hospital and apologizing. But sure, no scandals except a tan suit?

That’s fine and I don’t really disagree with any of that.

Yet in spite of it, and no matter how strongly people feel about him in a negative sense, he and his music will prob always be more widely known globally than Kendrick Lamar, primarily based on him making “pop” hip-hop music for 15+ years.

That’s just a product of how people consume music in modern times.

I live in the real world and can immediately identify popular Drake songs going back 15-20 years because of the sound.

There are 10-12 Kendrick Lamar songs that I can definitively confirm are him and 1/4 of them are “diss tracks.”

I would 100% believe this, if it was somehow an interaction that happened over social media.

I’d dare posit that despite what you hear within the world of social media that attempts to project its own one-sided values and opinions on reality until people believe it, Drake music is more popular on a global scale (and potentially still in America, for that matter) than Kendrick Lamar music.
