Well this is bad. Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations exposing sensitive user data

I tried a few quick searches. I found someone's chat where I can see their api key

I found some building their resume. Their name, email and phone numbers are exposed.

Going through old articles written 10+ years ago, where I sometimes wrote for 8p per word or less, and AI (and AI-users) can kiss my lily-white because that shit was fun, real, drew on my real life experiences, and carried original turns of phrase that could only have come from me.

Please sign the petition and don’t let democracy be dumped in Cumbria and the beautiful Lake District in order to mine out a massive sub-sea nuclear dump #lakedistrict #marinelife #oceanpollution #heatsink #nuclearwaste #friendsofthelakedistrict #ocean #coastalliving #coast #health #democracy
Cumberland Council refuses to carry out a debate and vote unless 1000 Cumbrians sign this petition.

Just 4 of 46 councillors are responsible for bringing the GDF siting process to Cumbria for a fourth time.

We've got a unique opportunity to exercise democracy here.

Tell Cumberland Council to use the democratic process properly
All local 'host' communities have rejected the GDF siting process, but their futures remain in the balance because Cumberland Council haven't taken…

This is the next little hand made book I wrote & illustrated. It’s for my son, who was fascinated by insects & creeping crawling things. Woodlice have so many different colloquial names that I’m sure I could add many more to it in a finished edition. Sound up full & apologies for whispering

This is why the internet is broken.

I swear if anyone thinks they want to even take part in *this* game, fair dos to them, but its not copywriting. It never was. It was writing shit for pennies.

Put shit in, get shit out. I'm in it for real businesses and real people. Use value, not exchange.

In related news, Interzone Magazine hates the creativity-robbing AI slop *so much* that it (probably) won't publish the work of authors who have allowed their writing to be illustrated by said AI slop.

@interzone.press
I.e. authors whose work has previously been pubbed by an AI-loving mag, who haven't pulled that work once they realised, and have then gone on to pitch to IZ on the basis of those previous credits, are too dumb to be published by the roundly AI-hating IZ.

How are *these* films the ones that Letterboxd algorithms picked as being 'similar to' Thelma and Louise?

Graeber and Wengrow's The Dawn of Everything is a great back up for this essay
My friend Pru Foster has written an extremely interesting essay on feminism, environmentalism, and how they've been linked by the oligarchy to suppress both. It's heavily cited and fascinating.

Buy something, give your data, get marketing, buy more stuff ... lab hamsters!
I hate the idea that consumers are just like lab mice for marketers and businesses to manipulate.

I hate they have simultaneously expanded our technological tools and reduced our options to a few big companies. Like phones: Apple, Samsung, Nokia, whatever.

1. Looking through a thread on fb's Dull Mens' Club, it's about the lack of insects on car windscreens in the UK lately.

As usual, plenty of people have ready answers, mainly aerodynamics of new cars, or silly quips that we've all heard 1000 times over 50 years.

One might be forgiven for thinking I am all doom-and-gloom about the future of publishing. Yet I'm not. As I said elsewhere, I think there's hope in small and indie presses as well as self-pub--always assuming the market correction comes before both become untenable.

Heartbroken by a news item in the Guardian the other day. A woman murdered by her nasty husband, her pets killed in horrific ways on the run up to her own death. The foulest details, and so much sadness for her and her family. It's the small stories that get me every time.
