Yes! Because I think while they have similarities they aren't the same thing. If they were, I'd be dead for being gay and trans, for instance. I'm also a communist, that would get me thrown into a camp. I think the US is a shitty place with shitty laws and government, but its not Nazi Germany

What are the facts? Maybe I am the brain dead one or just misread it. As I understand it he is stating his opinion that fascism is based on American Government. The Nazis certainly took notes, Eugenics and the Indian Wars being a notable example, but I don't think they are one and the same

It's easy to say America or Trump bad, which is all fine and valid. But saying "um ackchually the nazis followed America's lead" is a brain dead take. The US is terribly flawed and enabled fascism sure, but I don't think its the model Hitler was aspiring for or anything.

I'm actually an American and not German. I am a German Historian, however! I am even actively working on publishing a paper about the holocaust. I feel like this post is functionally virtue posturing and doesn't really understand that the US and fascism are different animals
