Exactly. Read just enough to confirm that you got what you came for. Read and process later. I usually have a whole plan before I go on site.

💕 Definitely! You have to make very efficient use of your time in these places, especially if you traveled there to see/get the records.

It’s hard not to sit there and read them immediately but if I’m on site, I’m probably getting a bunch of records. If I sit there and start reading and one of them messes me up emotionally, I’m thrown off course and won’t get everything I came for. That’s why you read later in private!

When I go on site to research, I ONLY gather documents. I don’t read and examine them on site because I will likely be in my feelings. I wait until I get home/to the hotel to read and process so I can cry, be angry, take breaks as needed.
